I had dabbled in website design when I first got my computer years ago. I had made a few very basic websites which gave me the confidence to attempt my first business website. I am a tree surgeon, and I was actually getting to the point where I would have to expand once again. I decided to put together a website at the same time. It was a very humbling lesson to see that putting together a basic website is worlds apart from designing a professional website. I was looking for the best web designers Perth has to offer and within hours I was in over my head.
Not only did my website look amateurish, but I also did not understand how to get my site on the major search engines. I found a web design company in Perth that had outstanding reviews as well as a website that looked fantastic. I liked how crisp and seamless it was, and I knew I wanted the same thing for myself.
Where Can You Learn from Other Web Designers?
At the moment my skills as a website designer are pretty meager, but I am very willing to learn and I am searching for web pages where there are more experienced people to help me out. Of course, I am only a freshman in Senior High School and for that matter, I am younger than the majority of the students in my class. To be honest, I have found a couple of sites, but for some reason, the people there were not that nice to me as a beginner. They apparently looked upon their web page as a place where elite web designers socialized and not a place for someone who had very little experience in building a website. So I am looking for someplace which is a lot friendlier. I also got the feeling that they were involved in designing sites that I would not be allowed to visit as well.
My interest is basically in developing my skills so that by the time that I get ready to go to college I am going to have a lot of basic skills in the field of computer science. Web page design is going to be fundamental to learning that sort of thing, but I am not sure that I am going to want to learn everything that I can. For instance, I have started learning about Flash and I am hoping that I can get good at that as well. For now, I am trying to learn how to put a flash intro on my page, just as something that I can play around with. It is a lot harder than I hoped it would be and my initial efforts are really not working the way I had hoped. I would really love to be able to show it to someone who could tell me what I did wrong.
